Weekend music [Jan. 26th, 2004|09:34 am]
Whenever I hang out with people for a few days, it seems like there is always a song that defines the time. They're never quality songs. Just typical pop junk... something catchy and something that everyone can sing along with. Previous songs included Nicki French's "Total Exclipse of the Heart" and Destiny's Child "Independent Woman".

The song for this weekend: Kelis' Milkshake. We sang it everywhere. When we got back to my flat, we downloaded the video and watched it. When we went to HMV, I bought the single.

In two weeks, I'll probably wonder why I ever liked the song.

Another part of the weekend was the soft-core porn video for Satisfaction by Benny Benassi. Of course, Satisfaction has recently been replaced by the new porn-flavored king of the charts, Somebody to Love by the Boogie Pimps. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm totally fine with the idea of sex selling music.

This weekend in pictures [Jan. 26th, 2004|11:12 pm]
I took a ton of photos this weekend, but here are my favorites:

Tower Bridge - Looking West
Tower Bridge - Looking East
The Weather Project at the Tate Modern
Art as play...

The first two images were each stitched together from 6 photos with Photoshop Elements (which I'm trying out right now to see if it's worthy of the Photoshop name despite being 1/6 the price). Elements managed to stitch the East shot together automaticaly. I had to help a bit on the West shot (which amounted to roughly lining up 2 of the pictures... really easy). There are a few artifacts, but I'm pretty happy with both shots.
